If you’re wondering what to do in La Laguna as soon as you arrive, I suggest beginning at Conception Square (Plaza de la Concepción).
This lively square is the perfect introduction to the city’s historic charm. Surrounded by colourful colonial buildings, this area offers a glimpse into La Laguna’s vibrant culture.
The Church of Immaculate Conception (Iglesia de la Concepción) dominates the square. While its exterior may seem modest, don’t miss the opportunity to climb its bell tower for a panoramic view of the city.
It’s a perfect spot to get your bearings and appreciate the blend of history and modernity that characterises La Laguna.

Makika & Co is another gem, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Their pastries are legendary among locals, and the warm, welcoming ambiance makes it a great spot to recharge.

Adelantado Square

It’s a great place to pick up some Canarian spices or a round of local cheese to take home. The market is also a fantastic spot to interact with locals and get a taste of everyday life in La Laguna.

Church and Former Convent of St. Augustine
